Tariffs Update March 3rd 2025

Writer: IFF, inc. IFF, inc.

We want to inform you that tariffs are set to increase significantly in the coming month, as recently announced by the White House. Since early February, IFF leadership and staff have been actively updating our importer clients with the latest developments to ensure transparency and preparedness.

As a member of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) and in collaboration with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., we remain closely engaged with industry experts and regulatory authorities. Our team is making every effort to adapt our customs entry processes in line with these new tariff changes to ensure compliance for our importer clients.

These tariff adjustments are expected to impact a wide range of imports from Canada, Mexico, China, the European Union, and many other countries. Additionally, we are monitoring ongoing proposals from the White House regarding reciprocal tariffs and will continue to provide timely updates based on information from both the White House and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Key Upcoming Deadlines:

  • March 4th – Deadline for the review of proposed 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, along with the addition of another 10% tariff on imports from China. Further announcements are soon with more details.

  • After the official announcement, the proposal will be finalized and published in the Federal Register as an Executive/Presidential Order, typically on the same day the order is signed.

  • For reference, you can access the Federal Register here: Federal Register :: Home

IFF remains committed to keeping you informed and ensuring your compliance with these regulatory changes. We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
